My name is Jen Kaufman. I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. I work with multiple SLP's in my school district. Transitioning to CDL (comprehensive distance learning) has been difficult to say the least. My students have enough difficulties without distance learning being forced upon them during these tough times. My job mostly includes working directly with students on articulation, language skills and other communication based skill building. I also make and print materials for my SLPs and students. My district provided 13" laptop, and no printer makes this a near impossible task. I am trying to observe students making precise articulation movements and instruct them from this small screen. I often have to email materials I've created to a third party to have them printed and drive to pick them up. This leaves me stressed and flustered and my students can feel it! I would purchase these items myself in a heartbeat if I was able. Unfortunately on an assistant's salary for the school district, and being a single mom of a child with a disability, this is not possible. The addition of a computer monitor and distance learning supplies will make a huge difference in the quality of therapy my students receive. Please consider this special gift to help me set up my home office to better serve my students!
