Working in a small district of only one elementary, one middle school, and one high school; we tend to have to make the most of what we're provided with. Online learning has been a challenge not only on the students' end but on the teachers' end as well. Our laptops are very outdated and some are even held together by duct tape! I've had to purchase (out of pocket) my own document camera to be able to use it as a webcam as well. Our main goal, as educators, is to provide our students with the best education possible. Whether that may be from home or in the classroom. For us, given our 'hot state' during this pandemic, learning will be done from home. Teaching will be done in the classroom. I could provide my students with the instruction they deserve if I had a reliable device that is portable and functional. This is why I was careful to ask for a device with plenty of storage. So that I may incorporate fun learning apps for my students' daily lessons. As we are coming back from summer break, our children are tired, confused, and unmotivated. I want to begin their year as engaging as possible and help them feel inspired to rock this year! Because during a time of uncertainty, one thing is still for sure... we teach because their lives are worth our time!
