Chromebooks are desperately needed to help my 6th-grade future authors to find their inner writing voice. Because of COVID, many students have forgotten the basic skills needed to write a basic essay. Teaching students how to write a narrative, a science fiction story, an argumentative or informational essay is a necessary skill that they will need for the rest of their lives. Chromebooks will help students to publish their work on various sites that help them proofread, revise and edit. For example, I use Utah Compose and it differentiates students learning by giving lessons based on the writing skill they need to improve. When students are hands-on and involved in their own revising they are able to take their knowledge and start peer editing with other peers. Having technology that is always available in my class will give my students an advantage to increase their writing for future grades, classes, and even jobs.
