A significant percentage of my students were distributed Apple iPads to continue their academic progress and challenges in instructing my students ensued as I do not own an iPad and I had to assist them in navigating their devices. A great deal of asynchronous time was invested in scouring the internet to develop resources to assist my students in learning how to navigate the interface of their iPads and difficulties in assisting my English language learners and special needs students remain as they require multiple methods to attain the skills needed to utilize their devices. I then realized that my students limited experience with iPads also affected their other academic areas. As their technology teacher I believe that it is my responsibility to be able to teach my student tech competency skills across electronic devices that do not only impact my coursework but that across academic areas. Funding of an iPad will greatly impact my ability to increase my students' engagement in their academic pursuits while providing them with needed 21st century career readiness skills. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
