When you contribute to this project, you’ll be helping me give my students diverse read-alouds in Spanish and English. These diverse books will not only serve as read-alouds, but also be mentor texts to help my students become stronger bilingual readers and writers. Because diverse books can help students make personal connections, I will target certain comprehension skills and strategies, depending on the text. As a result, my students will increase their reading comprehension in Spanish, English, fiction, and non-fiction texts. Writing goes hand in hand with reading, so my students can learn from these authors ways to improve their own writing in both languages.
