If fully funded my students will be provided the opportunity to learn about artists and their techniques through books, photos and discussion. They will also be able to explore those techniques with various tools and mediums. After exposure to different mediums they will begin to make more critical choices, thinking creatively and expressing emotions through art. Working with clay, paint and other mediums increases social emotional growth as children begin to express their feelings through their creations, which provides opportunity for expressing feelings more freely, as well as relating to the feelings and creations of their peers. The air dry clay and dough also provide soothing sensory experiences and a permanent finished product. The additional tools, such as the tabletop paint easel and brushes will ensure materials are always available (with the new sanitizing guidelines). In the event that students are not able to continue with in school learning, the individual modeling dough packs will provide these experiences at home.
