Due to COVID-19, classrooms across the globe look a little different this school year. In our classroom, we will be using our Chromebooks for collaboration, individual/group assignments, reading, writing, annotating, and so much more. Using these devices will cut down the risk of exposure to the disease, since it eliminates the use of communal utensils, supplies, etc. We are very blessed to be able to provide each student with a Chromebook to learn, but using technology to this degree is a new experience for students, and they struggle navigating their device without a mouse. For example, when students are reading a text on Google Docs, they can right-click the text to easily define a word that they might not understand (in seconds right before their eyes), but without a mouse, they have to delicately tap the bottom right corner of their track pad to access this tool. Frequently, the track pad doesn't respond accurately, and students become discouraged. It's something as simple as a click of a button to bring ease to a student's experience with reading and comprehension. These wireless mice will be a gift to each of my students - a gift they can use in all of their current classes, take home with them, and utilize throughout their remaining high school years! Thank you for considering contributing to this project.
