As the only guidance counselor in the school, it is my primary goal and responsibility to do all I can to support my students. The school's hybrid learning model, which begins in two weeks, will limit my physical interaction with students. I need tools to make my virtual counseling sessions, discussions and lessons engaging and impactful. I have to provide sufficient and meaningful materials and activities for my students to work on while they are home learning remotely. One of the things I need is a scanner. I have lessons and activities I want to scan and upload to my Google Classroom; scan student work started in school so it can be completed at home; scan resource materials and information to then email to parents (in various languages). Other items I need are a webcam and microphone. I can record stories that help students connect with feelings and experiences, and thereby helps them participate more fully in counseling sessions or lessons. Some stories are extremely helpful in developing decision making strategies and coping skills.
