Manipulatives are physical objects that are used as teaching tools to engage students in the hands-on learning of mathematics. Putting math manipulatives into the hands of my students will allow them to dig deeper into the math and financial literacy skills they are learning. Research shows that using math manipulatives gives students the opportunity to get a concrete understanding of mathematics. There are so many uses for math manipulatives in the classroom. We will use them for partners games such as top-it, race to the finish and other card games and also in whole class activities.
