As a new teacher, I currently do not have a sufficient classroom library to support the needs of all of the students in my class. Studies show that when students can see themselves in the literature they are reading, it engages them more because of their ability to make more connections to the text. As a teacher for social justice, it is my duty to provide literature where all my students are represented. Last but certainly not least, this project also helps my students who are more English dominant because these books will provide them a comfortable way to practice their Spanish.

About my class
