With black sharpies, my students often outline their drawings, making them bold and more visible to the viewer. We use them when illustrating, drawing patterns and to create outlines for paintings. Sharpies are a versatile art medium, as they don't bleed when exposed to water and can be used on a great many surfaces. The students will use these sharpies to create art that ties into core content curriculum such as science and mathematics, as well as, social emotional learning. These cross curricular connections makes learning fun and cements understanding.
