I believe that classrooms no longer need to be desks in rows staring at a board. Classrooms should be placed of identity, safety, and inspiration. Classrooms should consist of pods of students engaging together to learn. My students deserve an atmosphere that is humanizing. I've been working hard to gather office chairs, kitchen tables, and bar stools--all from yard sales and with my own money--but it isn't enough. Help me furnish a room for future teachers that shows we value them as people. Let's change from rows to realness. Let's humanize.
