A major part of our curriculum is make our scholars college and career ready. Researching plays a significant role in that preparation. Throughout the school year scholars are asked to dig deeper into topics that are teacher created as well self created. We begin the year understanding the impact of Jim Crow laws while reading the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Then we examine segregation & the Little Rock nine. Scholars are asked to research unlikely change makers who choose to do what is right despite the consequences. In addition we research how we can build on our human capital to achieve our dream career.
