Last year, students in grades 4 and 5 learned how to sketchbook and really loved the process. Sketchbooking is a reflective, calming practice, as well as being a great activity for practicing art skills and techniques. In the shutdown, students had to scramble for supplies and paper at home. I can't wait to be able to provide sketchbooks to help make art equitable for all of my students! With this project, I will be able to bind sketchbooks for all my students to keep their art in one place, whether they are in school or learning from home. Their sketchbook will be a place for them to explore different art techniques and keep track of their ideas, inspirations, and favorite art mediums. Working in my sketchbook is something I love doing, and I can't wait to pass that experience on to my students with help from you!
