As a speech therapist in an elementary school with students as young as 3 years old up to fifth grade, who most of my students, have another disability other than speech. I would love to provide the framework skills for language development all the way to encourage meaningful conversations, starting at an early age. I am currently teaching both virtual and face-to-face students. Having hands-on learning resources such as storybooks with colorful images along with manipulatives will provide those early language skills that my young learners are in high need of. From teaching positional words with concrete objects as well as matching vocabulary with magnetic rods will support the unique learning process that each of my students needs. These materials are an important resource that adjusts to tailor my speech skills to provide and support those opportunities for language development skills throughout various learning experiences.
