The arts is a major part of a student's development and learning experience. Many times students who come from challenging circumstances need a positive way to get out their feelings, frustrations, and their energy. This is why I want to create a drum circle. Having a drum circle is a great way for kids to put all of their energy into something that is positive while continuing to polish their musical abilities. It also gives the students a chance to improvise rhythms and to speak through the music they create.
