Each year, I welcome 140 students into my English Language Arts classroom. Approximately 40% of them are English Language Learners who, for the first time in their life, are taking an English Language Arts class with native speakers. Some of these students speak Spanish, like me. Others speak Mandarin and Cantonese, which I cannot speak. Nearly all of these students come from working class families who want to see their students succeed, but everyone, including myself, can use some help every now and then. We appreciate every contribution that comes our way so we can still making learning miracles happen!
