As a special education teacher, I am always searching for ways to provide engaging content and experiences for my students. In a remote setting during a pandemic, that gets a little more challenging. Help me provide a greater remote learning experience for my students. I am requesting a monitor and document camera to better view my students and display my teaching. Other items will go towards delivering experiments and engaging content. In the past, my students do struggle academically. I have been able to leverage high interest STEM projects to instill a desire for learning in my students. With the items provided for in this DonorsChoose, I will be able to continue these STEM projects at a high level. One project specifically impacted will be my bridge engineering unit. Each year, my students construct bridges out of popsicle sticks after learning about engineering concepts, such as the strength of shapes and materials, the design process, etc... With the monitor and document camera, I will be able to display and model my own work. With the popsicle sticks and glue, I will be able to provide construction materials to my students at no cost to them. The graphics tablet will be used to design and annotate my students' work. The TeachersPayTeachers gift card will be very useful in finding and providing engaging digital activities for my students. This will be my eighth year teaching on the west side of Chicago and every year has been an adventure. This year will be no different. Remote learning will be just one more adventure!
