When returning to school students will be faced with unprecedented challenges as they strive to learn and grow in all facets of their life. The data clearly shows over and over again that physical movement is key to student's success in the classroom. With new restrictions being placed on the school environment students will be unable to use playground equipment, play soccer, kickball, tag, or any of the usual games that allow students to get the exercise their minds and bodies need. With these materials my students will be able to stay socially distanced, but also get the exercise and stress relief that they need to be able to stay focused in the classroom. The ability of students to move their bodies and get the exercise they need is directly related to their performance in the classroom. It relieves anxiety, stress, and increases the ability to focus. I hope that by using these materials during recess, students will be able to stay healthy, both by being socially distanced and remaining physically active!
