I would like to incorporate flexible seating options into my classroom environment. I use a personal balance ball at my teacher's desk, and the students are very intrigued by it! I often offer sitting on it as an incentive. My students have not been in the traditional classroom setting for five months, and I feel that these fitness chairs will serve as a warm welcome back to the new school year. With my students being active learners, these balance balls will provide a healthy outlet for their high energy. These seats will assist my students in learning, adopting, and practicing a healthy posture while building core strength from active sitting in the classroom during their lessons. Ball movements increase blood flow to the brain, helping to improve concentration and increase focus, reduce restlessness, and prevent boredom and distractions in class by keeping the body active and the mind engaged. The fitness ball chairs will provide an alternative seating option for my students, and provide an outlet for any excess energy. This will promote positive, constructive fidgeting and serve as a fun and active way to get the wiggles out.
