I have the iPad to record lessons using some great applications, but I lack a quality microphone. I also lack some math and science tools such as an electromagnet kit, beakers and a quality protractor to use during live and recorded learning activities. Finally, our classroom needs some engaging reading materials in Spanish. These books can be read aloud remotely and will be in the classroom for the kiddos to read when they physically return to the school.
My students will benefit greatly from the resources you are helping fund. While I'm teaching remotely, I will be able to video record amazingly engaging and creative lessons using the wireless microphone connecting to an iPad. I can record lessons using the Do Ink app and a green screen in our classroom without any quality lost due to poor sound. In addition, the texts have been chose for several reasons. First, some of them will make great anchor books because they are wonderful examples of plot or word usage, or overall quality writing. Second, there are some graphic novels which students growing into lifelong readers often are drawn to because of the engaging illustrations or because the text is broken down into parts rather than sometimes intimidatingly long paragraphs. Finally, I will be able to better demonstrate math and science concepts with the tools that I'm requesting. What's equally wonderful is that the students will be able to use all the resources that I'm requesting when we are back learning in our school and classroom.
Remote learning lessons need to be as engaging as ones in person!
