Even from far away, it is important to engage students in learning from a distance. Special education students are regressing both academically, socially and emotionally during this pandemic and while schools are closed. Providing my students with supplies and materials to use at home during remote learning will allow them to engage in hands on activities and provide them with their sensory needs. Students will be able to have take home supply pouches and materials and sensory items at their instructional and functional levels to work on during remote learning. Students will be able to utilize these materials in the classroom if and when we return since materials and supplies will not be able to be shared in class. Being from a low income district, many students can not afford these materials on their own and would benefit from any supplies provided.
