My third grade students will be learning from home 3 days a week. They will be provided with tablets to do their online learning, but nothing compares to holding a book or a notebook in your hands. Our school families cannot provide all that is needed to learn on their own. Help us even the playing field for our wonderful and deserving students at CES. By purchasing sets of or individual books, you are putting the tools of the trade directly in the hands of my students, and doing your part to equalize learning opportunities for less privileged students.. Children will be able to borrow a book from our classroom library to read in school, and one to take home to practice with! Sure, there are lots of online stories we can read or listen to, but you can't cuddle on the couch with a sibling and tablet, flipping through the illustrations and going back and forth. You need a book to do that! Two-sided whiteboards will allow my students to brainstorm, do math problems, write and share messages with the class from home, and participate in discussions in a way where everyone's voice can be heard! Plus, students love to use their mini whiteboards, and are enthusiastic about showing their thinking this way. Students can follow along as I teach remotely, and do their own practice in math or spelling simultaneously. Help us make learning more collaborative and fun!
