Kindergarten is a very hands-on age where children learn through play and exploration. These activities will increase the opportunities for my students to further develop their Fine Motor, Math, and STEAM skills. This school year is very unpredictable and I would love to give my students the same opportunities in the classroom that they would have any other year. With the current guidelines, students will not be able to share materials and work together to complete a task. These materials will allow more of my students the ability to display their creativity and imagination working independently. Kindergarten students learn through play and these activities will allow my students to build and play on a more regular basis in my classroom.
Whether in the classroom or from home, the document camera will give my kindergarten students the best learning opportunities possible. I will be able to model and demonstrate learning visually. Students will be able to see materials projected on the SMARTBoard from anywhere in the classroom. Students will be able to be actively engaged in the learning process. In the event our district goes to remote teaching, I will be able to give my students the same exemplar teaching from home using the document camera as if we were in the classroom.
