These materials will open the eyes to my 3rd graders. Often times, students in our school never leave their town, state, let alone country. The Scholastic News will allow the students to see other parts of our Country and World, while sitting in their classroom of home. The articles are interesting and help students relate to children their own age from other places. Many articles are on current events that are happening around the world or right here in the USA. Scholastic often does surveys and the students can participate, which makes them feel like they had a part I’m creating the magazine.
