These books will help raise students' awareness for others, and give them experiences that they may not have in their community. Students will be allowed to check out books from my classroom library to read on their own time. Reading for pleasure encourages mental health. Students who read for 20 minutes a day improve their reading skills more quickly than those who do not. These diverse books will allow students to be immersed in a variety of cultures that they may not otherwise ever be exposed to. Students will benefit from having access to these books.
