School-based therapists were thrown into teletherapy abruptly and we have had to learn a whole new way of delivering services to our students. Physical therapy is especially difficult to deliver virtually to children with Autism. Having a computer that works extremely well and smoothly, would help to ensure the correct and most up to date programs can be run to engage students in physical therapy activities. Having this project funded would help me ensure that my students are able to seamlessly receive their one-on-one virtual physical therapy services during the Coronavirus pandemic. A MacBook computer will give my students access to the latest technology during therapy sessions. During individual sessions, there are often times where many programs need to be used at once. During any given session, programs that may be used are Zoom, Google Meet, Powerpoint, and multiple windows on web browsers. During the same session, pictures of yoga cards and exercises for strengthening, stretching, and balance may be introduced via screen sharing. A MacBook computer would enable therapy sessions to run smoothly, without glitches, and improve participation and communication with my students and their families.
