Thank you for considering donating to my 3rd grade math and science classroom. I am a first year teacher who has just completed my Master's Degree. Because I have been in school full-time, I have little to give my students financially during my first year of teaching. This is especially heart-breaking at a time when my school district has decided to go 100% remote. I work in a high-needs school, with many students who are English Language Learners, many students on IEPs, and many families in the school district are living below the poverty line. I want to make my virtual classroom as similar to school as I can. I believe I can do this if I can ensure that students have all the materials they need to participate in engaging, interactive lessons from home. Some of the materials you will see listed in this project include general school supplies such as notebooks and folders and math manipulatives such as fraction tiles. Fractions are introduced in 3rd grade and we spend the majority of our year on this unit. I am also looking for funding for scholastic news. I love connecting literature with science and math whenever I can. At the end of the year I hope my students see themselves as mathematicians and scientists.
