My Kindergarteners are starting their first year of school online and I know that our little learners are not used to learning from a screen. It is no secret that five-year-olds need hands-on materials in order to learn best. However, teaching at a Title One school means that most parents do not have access to the materials that their students need to learn from home. These at-home learning toolkits will be a "one-stop-shop" for all the materials my students will need to successfully learn at home. Each student will have their own toolkit that will include a dry erase pocket with a variety of templates they can insert. These templates will allow them to use their dry erase pocket as a writing journal, a math notebook, a blank space, or a number line. The students will also each receive baggies of manipulatives including their own alphabet, counting pieces, and sight word activities. All of these materials could easily become misplaced or ruined, but these toolkits will allow my students to keep all of their materials organized and clean.
