I am in a school which is not cultural diverse. I am Native American from the Navajo Tribe. I have incorporated bits of who I am and culture into everyday teaching. I've showed my students photos of my Native friends and friends have made from different cultures. That is why I want the crayons for different skin colors. My students have complained that the brown crayon doesn't look like me, my children or my friends. Also, in my culture and others I have shown them males and females where jewelry. Specifically, for my tribe we were strings of turquoise. Again, my students have expressed the desire to make there own beaded jewelry for themselves. Thus the reason the string and beads would be helpful. The small sitting desks are perfect for flexible seating while also being easy to sanitize to keep safe. The other items will increase creativity in learning to help motive my students.
