The state of Florida awards fifteen books with the Sunshine State Young Reader Award (SSYRA) books. There is a combination of picture and chapter books. The students love the challenge of reading all of the books are rewarded for reading through the set of books. Our entire school participates in a competition to see who all can read the entire set of books. When students read through the sets of books their reading comprehension and fluency greatly increases. The students love the books and they focus on a variety of topics that are fun for children!

About my class
