The use of these headsets that include headphones and microphones will be extremely helpful for my students not only while we are virtual, but also when we are back in the classroom. Most of my students do not have access to headphones or a microphone which can make focusing and answering questions challenging. Some students do not have access to a quite place to go for our virtual lessons, so by donating to our project you would not only be helping them be able to focus and participate effectively, but you would be helping them create a safe space to learn. They will also be used for many things when we get to return in person. There will be more procedures to keep our kids and teachers safe. Each student having their own pair of headphones will make it so there is no need for them to share headphones that have been used by someone else. This way we do not have to worry about taking instructional time disinfecting them and only allowing a certain number of students to do technology each day. We have learned how important technology is in the classroom and the outside world. They will be able to use these personal headsets to do activities on their tablets during small group time, this way they can focus on what they are working on instead of whatever else the other small groups are doing. They can use them for virtual field trips, so they can be fully immersed in the experience and make real life connections. They love to read books online and some of their books have the option to be read to them, headsets could help them in being able to practice new words and hear them correctly.
