Every child deserves to feel welcome and represented. When so much learning at the early elementary grades is centered around reading, why is it so hard to find diversely representative literature? Our children are the future of our everything. My goals is to help students dream bigger and broader by seeing themselves as the main characters in literature. Girls and boys will see that they can be scientists, architects, and presidents. My racially diverse students should feel welcome and know that they matter in our classroom and in our world.
