Kindergarten is a foundational year in which not only are students learning the basics to reading, but also we are hoping to ignite their passion to read for enjoyment. It’s so important that students are in a print-rich environment where they have access to literature every day. Many of my students come from homes that do not have books for them to access. Developing a classroom library with quality literature gives students the opportunity to explore and discover new worlds that they would never have the opportunity to see in real life.
