The use of technology and a variety of materials is a daily activity in my classroom, especially when focusing on ELA and math instruction. During instructional time, students receive guided practice centered around specific literacy skills and mathematical concepts. I incorporate different teaching modalities using technology and materials to reinforce necessary skills for struggling students. This allows me as a Special Education Teacher to assess student learning and inform my instruction in order for my students to make academic gains. It also provides young minds an opportunity to learn in a manner that’s fun & engaging. My goal is to incorporate more technology and materials for students to use as resources to increase student engagement during instructional time whether they are remote or in a hybrid classroom. By incorporating new technology and materials in my teaching, students will be fully interacting in my lessons while increasing their overall learning! In choosing to donate to our project, you are helping to improve student engagement in and outside the classroom, while increasing my students’ ability to make gains with their overall academic achievement. Students will be able to utilize the iPad and materials not only this school year but for many years to come. In this face-paced, evolving world, students require technology and materials to engage their learning. When students are engaged they become invested in their learning. Ultimately, this boosts literacy & math skills as well as the desire to learn! Thank you!
