Currently, the plan for my new students' learning is a hybrid classroom environment: two days in school and three days at home. At home, students will need to follow along to a read aloud virtually each day. I am requesting A to Z Mystery books, spy pens, and journals to create excitement for our Mystery Unit. I would like to create a mystery reading kit that contains a new and exciting mystery book, spy pens, and a journal for the children to kick off the new mystery reading unit. Each "home book bag" would feature the A to Z Mystery book: The Absent Author, to be used as the classroom read aloud and to follow at home virtually. The children would each receive a spy pen and a journal to "stop and jot" their ideas and thoughts about the mystery book. With these materials, the students will be able to participate in a mystery book study, read a new genre, and develop reading confidence.
