As a new counselor I want to use the books to educate kids on the pandemic, ease their anxiety and teach them strategies to deal with stress using mindfulness and other techniques. I will read books and discuss with classes throughout the school day, and assign and model assignments and activities that align with readings. Guidance lessons will vary, but few books are available in the current library due to the pandemic reaching us in March of 2020. I am also a yoga instructor and want to reduce stress among families, and plan to read these books and attach some activities they can create, as well as physical activities they can do at home.
