These books will be used for several different purposes. My students will use them for silent reading. The hope is that with high quality children's literature, this will help foster a love of reading. Students will have access to my classroom library often. In the era of COVID, however, students will need to quarantine books after use. Therefore, there will need to be more books in my library for student use. I will also have several students with multicultural backgrounds in my classroom. I want them to feel accurately represented during read alouds, as some of these books will be used to teach other perspectives and other cultures. I would also use these books in lessons about summarizing.
