"Dante's Inferno" is a classic epic poem that many special education students do not have the opportunity to read due to its difficult language. My students need modified novels they can read and understand. The availability of books my students can personally relate to and read independently, will afford them the thrill of being transported away from the stress of every day life, and into a world of their own choosing. The importance of relevant and culturally-based books in my classroom library has never been more important than it is today.
