This school year will be one like no other! My first graders will be learning from home (to start), with the majority of their time spent on computers, instead of in a classroom. With many of my students having a variety of special needs, having TPT online resources for online learning will help provide visuals and fun online activities to utilize and help make learning more fun! I teach students with autism as well as students with anxiety disorder, ADD, etc. Many of my students have difficulty expressing their feelings and communicating their wants and needs. Using visuals (e.g. PECS) for communication boards to request both needed and desired items, visual rules, and picture schedules to help with transitions will allow multiple opportunities for my students to communicate. Having TPT gift card will also allow me the opportunity to look up social stories as well as feelings charts for my students to use and access both at home and in school. TPT online resources would also help provide fun learning activities that my students currently do not have at home and help reinforce skills taught during online sessions (e.g. BINGO cards, BOOM cards, etc. to target various skills being taught through games). This year will certainly be different but with your help, we can still make it spectacular!
