The manipulatives and supplies listed in this project will serve as an opportunity for hands-on learning for my first graders, who still learn best through exploration and play. With these materials, students will take the lead in their learning as they work to make meaningful connections to the curriculum that will stay with them. The read-aloud books listed in this project are incredibly important to me as I strive to create a classroom community that makes all learners feel seen, heard, loved, and celebrated. It is no secret that students learn best when they are at peace, feeling safe in a trusting and welcoming environment. I would be immensely grateful and humbled if you would be so kind to help me in this mission. Scholastic News will be integrated into our work with social studies as we explore the world around us and discuss the importance of staying up to date in what is happening our communities in a way that is inclusive, safe, and fun! The fun will only continue as students use art supplies such as paint to showcase their creative expression through colorful project based learning. Thank you, in advance, for your kindness!
