These past few months have been full of changes and new experiences for this year's kindergarteners. Starting the school year 100% virtually will be something new for all of us, but I would love to give my students as close to the same experience as if they were with me in person. Part of what makes kindergarten so fun is all of the fun hands-on activities we do together! Just because this year they're learning at home instead of in the classroom shouldn't mean they don't get the chance to experience learning in the same fun and exciting ways. In school, we would be using dry erase boards, dot markers, snap cubes, bear counters, spinners, magnifying glasses, links, bingo chips, and dice to play games and help bring our learning to life. I plan to use these same materials to make toolkits that students will be able to use to do all the same math and reading activities virtually that we would normally do together in school.
