Teaching remotely is no joke. In the last few weeks, I've felt more like a first year teacher than I have in years. New technology, new learning platforms, new ways to reach and engage with students. All this would be enough, but teaching math remotely is so hard! Students need to be able to see the problems being worked out, ask questions in real time and be able to get visual feedback. Teaching through slideshows is just not enough! By giving us access to a good document camera students can watch as I work out problems, graph on the coordinate plane or correct mistakes. With the Apple iPad, I will be able to create handwritten lessons that can be posted online that students can watch again and again until they have mastered a topic.
