Students have been under a lot of emotional stress with all the uncertainty and daily changes to routines caused by COVID-19. Many of the children have difficulty with emotional regulation and are easily overwhelmed by changing rules and routines and shifting to and from distance learning. Their self-regulation skills have regressed and as a result; they have had a more difficult time self-regulating and using coping skills in the classroom independently.
