The math manipulatives will be used to create individual math toolboxes for each student to have at their home for distance learning. The tools included such as Base 10 blocks, fraction tiles, and white boards will give students the opportunity to model their thinking during our live instructional zooms as well as during their independent work time. Our goal is to provide students with access to the same materials they would have if we were learning face-to-face in the school building. Virtual manipulatives are great, but they can't replace the ones our students can touch, see, and feel. The math toolboxes will allow our students to have hands on learning experiences even at a distance.
