This year singing, group movement, and sharing of instruments are on hold due to COVID. Now, more than ever, students need an outlet to continue to make music (and relieve stress). Bucket drumming is a great choice. With bucket drumming students will practice keeping a steady beat, learn basic drumming technique, learn to read and play rhythm patterns, follow a conductor, and even create and notate their own rhythmic patterns. Each student will need a 5 gallon bucket (which I have already secured), a spot marker on top to dampen the sound, and a pair of drumsticks. I've found abundant digital tools and resources on Teachers Pay Teachers that Id like to purchase to put together a clear, sequential Bucket Drumming unit for my students.
