I am requesting a classroom set of 8 wireless headphones for my students so they are still able to work together while working apart. My students love the listening center. We use it for many different activities. The kids use it to listen to stories and then draw or write about their favorite part. I have included a phonemic awareness listening center kit that accommodates up to eight students at a time with materials. The kits have dry erase boards with activities on them that they listen to the "teacher" guide them through the activities. I will able to work in small groups with children while my kids are listening and following along with these activities at the same time.
They won't be tied down to one area in the room at a table with cords. They will be able to spread out in the room and work on the same activities. I want my kids to keep working in listening centers in the future and I am afraid they will lose this with social distancing guidelines in the future without these headphones.
