Arguably, chef's knives are among the most important kitchen tool - if not the most important tool. Culinary and Food Safety students will utilize these knives and honing steels every day in the cooking lab. From day one, safety and proper technique for using knives is the first skill set taught to our aspiring chefs, and an enduring skill they need to master. In the event we have to pivot to remote learning, having these tools would enable those students that do not have equipment at home access, so they can be successful for the remainder of the course.
