These students come with a variety of sensory needs that they have due to different disabilities that they have. Having a toolkit with them at all times, allows the student to help regulate themselves in understanding what their body needs, calming their bodies, and then focusing back to the work that they are completing. With these new tools, we will be able to provide them a sensory toolkit at home that they can use when they feel overwhelmed by distance learning. When I work with these students, I can reference their tool kits and asked them if they have used them or how they have helped them. This is also a strategy that I can use with the students in teaching coping methods when things seem a little out of control!
