While teaching from home last semester I learned that my tools were out of date and inadequate. I can't afford the things that I put on my list out of pocket but they are desperately needed. The whiteboard is a necessity that when mounted works as a classroom chalkboard. The document camera allows me to share text of all kinds with my students, not just digital content. The tripod allows me to meet my students in virtual places like outdoors, throughout my home and and create virtual field trips. These are all things that make learning from home more engaging and exciting. I teach 1st grade and they still believe in make believe and the magic of learning these tools put into place in my home classroom will be amazing.
